Recent ballistic denim covered gel testing of the 9 x 19mm and .45 ACP resulted in dramatic terminal effects. The .45 ACP reaches velocities of over 1900 feet per second, double that of most .45′s. This round passed through 11 inches of bare gelatin leaving a wound channel greater than 5 inches with 7 fragments. The Denim cloth test created a “star-burst” effect, almost 8 inches in height and 6 inches in diameter. The 50 grain 9x 19mm HP-C passed through 10 inches of gel leaving a wound diameter greater than 3 inches with 7 fragments.
